Charlie Butts – OneNewsNow – 7/30/2010 – Serious questions are being raised about a study that suggests the sexual orientation of prospective parents should not be considered in adoptions.
The new University of Virginia study, which appears in the August issue of Applied Developmental Science, was conducted by psychology professor Charlotte J. Patterson. But Alex Mason, political analyst for the Virginia-based Family Policy Network (FPN), considers her lifestyle and decides that researchers who have something to gain by the outcome of a study are biased.
“The fact of the matter is that Charlotte Patterson is herself an avowed lesbian who is raising three children with her so-called ‘partner’ that she married in Canada,” Mason reports. “Over the years, she’s written books like Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Identity [and] Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Identity in Youth.
