Judicial Watch 08/04/10 – Last week, the American Enterprise Institute held an event on the national security issues we still face almost nine years after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich addressed the audience in an hour long speech focusing on radical Islam and the government’s responses to national security threats.
According to Gingrich, the United States is failing to address national threats in numerous areas. These include our declining economy, which puts us at risk of being overshadowed as a leading economic power by China and India, and the rise of “secular socialism” in modern politics. This results in a system that purposely overlooks growing threats and “defends reactionary institutions that are incompetent in order to prop them up.” We certainly saw this issue with the multiple bailouts of institutions that were supposed to be “too big to fail.” Read Full Story Here
