OneNewsNow.com – 8/13/2010 - An immigration reform activist says it’s going to be a long process to fix the loophole in the 14th Amendment that allows women to enter America illegally and give birth to babies who automatically become U.S. citizens – but he’s encouraged that another prominent Republican leader is signing on to his idea on how to change that interpretation.
As previously reported on OneNewsNow, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell recently announced his support of holding hearings on the issue of birthright citizenship. Likewise, House Minority Leader John Boehner announced Sunday that he is also open to talks on changing the way the 14th Amendment is interpreted so that U.S.-born children of illegal immigrants are not automatically U.S. citizens.
